How to convert your bicycle into an electric bicycle, part 1

This is part 1 of a three part series on how to convert your normal bicycle into an electric bicycle. The conversion kit used for this conversion includes a 250W rear hub motor, 17A speed controller, LCD display and PAS (pedal assist) sensor.

Here is a link to the conversion kit:

We chose the 136mm rear hub motor option with cassette adapter and 25km/h top speed.

Part 1 shows how the rear wheel was installed. Rear hub width vs frame rear dropout width is a concern as well as proper function of the rear disc brake. Possible issues related to these and solutions are discussed in this video.

Part 2 deals with PAS-sensor and battery installation as well as how to wire all cables as clean as possible.

Part 3 takes you for a short test run with the finished bike.
